South Pasadena DUI Checkpoint This Friday
The Pasadena Star-News has reported that the South Pasadena Police Department will be holding a DUI checkpoint on Friday Dec. 16. The checkpoint will begin at 8 p.m. and will take place at an undisclosed location.
Friday's checkpoint is not unique to South Pasadena and is part of a larger, county-wide "Winter Anti-DUI campaign". Taking palace between Dec. 16 and Jan. 1, drunk and drugged drivers will be targeted through the use of checkpoints and hundreds of roving DUI patrols.
More than 2,400 people were arrested during a similar campaign in 2010. County officials have said that drug recognition experts will be on staff at "most of the checkpoints" to assist officers.
